Enfield Residence is a substantial extension and renovation of a grand home, centred around a kitchen that anchors a series of interconnected spaces designed for entertaining. The project brings together scale, material richness and spatial flow, creating an environment that feels immersive yet carefully resolved.
At its core, the kitchen is conceived as both a functional workspace and a social centre. A large island in Rosso Levanto marble extends beyond preparation to become a dining surface, setting the tone for how the home is used. The main joinery wall is arranged with a strong sense of symmetry, anchored by a sculptural microcement rangehood and framed by handmade Moroccan mosaic tiles, creating a composition that feels both expressive and controlled.
Surrounding spaces extend from the kitchen to support hosting and everyday use. A scullery and adjoining laundry connect through to an internal atrium, while a concealed bar and integrated joinery elements allow the space to shift seamlessly between open and contained. Steel-framed doors define key thresholds, including the transition to a richly coloured study, where a deep red palette introduces a more intimate and atmospheric counterpoint to the main living areas.
Materiality is layered and deliberate, balancing bold stone, handcrafted finishes and traditional detailing with the scale and proportions of the architecture. The result is a home that moves fluidly between moments of energy and retreat; a setting designed for gathering, hosting and experiencing daily life with a heightened sense of atmosphere and occasion.
